Myrrys is a single man project to create beautiful natural design and to bring it into life. I’m Santtu Määttänen, Finnish woodworker, furniture designer, photographer and a visual artist. This website is the fruition of my lifes passions, ambitions and countless hours of sweat and tears. I'm here to study the nature and to bring those studies into my works, be it piece of furniture or a photograph or something else completely.

I’m located in Imatra, south-eastern Finland, a medium sized industrial city which has a strong history in tourism. It’s the home of Imatra rapids which are a sight to behold, place where Lake Saimaa breaks free and runs down as river Vuoksi towards Laatokka. Place where modern day industrial development, ancient songs of our ancestors, thousands tourists through generations and wonderful beautiful nature come together as one.

There’s no storefront here since all pieces are made to order, prices vary on chosen material, details and amount of time it takes to make it happen. But all examples have prices they actually sold at to give guidelines to what to expect. Those are of course subject to change due to inflation or changes in material costs over time so a year they were made is also displayed.
